Join Fab Lab Plymouth and Plymouth College of Art for a fun and informative day that will expand your craft practice in new and exciting ways. This one-day course will introduce the amazing possibilities of digital technology to craft practitioners. Aimed at traditional makers, such as glassblowers, the course will introduce CAD through Rhino 5, demonstrations of 3D scanning, 3D printing, and CNC milling to make plaster or graphite moulds. You will create 2D drawings and learn how to format your files to suit a wide variety of processes, such as laser cutters, water-jet cutters and CNC routers.

Course tutor: Ian Hankey MA (RCA).

Before taking on the role as Manager of Fab Lab Plymouth at Plymouth College of Art, Ian spent 25 years as a professional glassmaker. Through his diverse experience, he has developed ways of making new technologies easy to understand and accessible to traditional craftspeople.
