Metal Colour Light Therapy is a new therapy where sunlight passes through coloured, etched glass. The intense colours of the glass panels arise from metal oxides of iron, copper, silver and gold and etched patterns on the panels intensify the effects of the metal colours. Metal Colour Light Therapy is used with children and adults who are physically disabled, traumatised, elderly or terminally ill and is always carried out in cooperation with a medical doctor.

Metal Colour Light Therapy was developed by the late Marianne Altmaier who, with the help of Lucian Turci, built a furnace, developed the craft of glassmaking and engraved the glass with motifs that would support and enhance the therapeutic effects of the metals used to create the various colours of the glass.

Hazel Adams is an experienced Art Therapist who trained in Metal Colour Light Therapy under the guidance of Marianne Altmaier at Blackthorn Medical Centre in Kent. Since 2013 Hazel has worked as Art Therapist and Colour Light Therapist at the Helios Medical Centre in Bristol with Dr. Frank Mulder and Partners. She is now Teacher and member of the executive board for the training of the Metal Colour Light Therapist.

The three individual workshops offered can be taken individually or as a whole as different glass panels will be experienced in each session. Participants will observe the panels and share experiences before hearing about the discoveries made through working with patients and researchers. There will also be time for questions and an opportunity to hear something of the therapeutic application and results. Session 1 begins at 10am, session 2 at 12 midday and session 3 at 3:30pm, these sessions are generously offered free of charge but spaces are limited and booking is essential.
