The Crick Crack Club Presents: The Glass Mountain

Performance Storytelling by Nell Phoenix, Tim Ralphs and Tuup

Mirrors that reflect more than they should...

Crystal balls predicting ambiguous futures...

Slippers that can never be worn...

At the centre of the world there is a glass mountain that can't be climbed. We can't see it, but we all know that it's there. Performance storytellers Nell Phoenix, Tim Ralphs & TUUP journey through a distorted, magnified and broken landscape of myth, folk & fairytale shot through with that magical liquid solid that is glass.

THE CRICK CRACK CLUB is the UK's premiere performance storytelling programmer and promoter, working with the finest performance storytellers, developing audiences, supporting artists and collaborating with venues across the UK and Europe.

NELL PHOENIX balances beautifully the comedic, the magical, and occasionally the downright rude, through an utterly engaging storytelling style. She is Artistic Director of StoryNight at Torriano, one of London’s thriving performance storytelling clubs for adults.

TIM RALPHS. Teller in residence of the Word Smack Cabaret and host of Sheffield’s The Story Forge, Tim's performances merge the contemporary with the ancient with enviable integrity. His work draws on our international narrative inheritance, the ever-changing cityscape of his home, fairytale, myth, legend and downright surrealism.

TUUP is The Unorthodox, Unprecedented Preacher. Born in Guyana and raised in Acton, his style is one of total improvisation, unbounded charisma and alarming spontaneity. As if that wasn't enough, he's also the creative lyricist and vocalist of the highly influential dance music collective, Transglobal Underground.
