We are really excited to launch a new initiative at The Hive in Birmingham - The Saturday Sessions. 

A monthly, long day of themed activity, experiences, fine food and sociable times at The Hive.

The Building is full of creativity and heritage; things to make, learn, see and do for all the family - a hive of activity. A place for everyone to enjoy.

The Saturday Sessions run on the second Saturday of each month, starting 2019.

10am-4pm Free family craft activities. Heritage exhibitions. Cafe & Bakery open. JDI

11am-1pm Free tapestry bee stitching workshop with Tina Francis in The Maker's Studio. Add yours into our next community exhibition. Arrive for 11am start if possible. JDI


Taste Bee9 honey from hives at The Custard Factory, with our freshly-baked bread, and learn about urban bee keeping JDI

12pm-2pm Lunch is served. To order. JDI

2pm-4pm Meet the Makers delivering some of our Saturday Sessions' adult craft experiences later in the year. See what you can make. JDI


4.30pm-6.30pm Wine tasting experience with Connolly's, the JQ's own wine merchants. Advance booking required. £18/head. AT

6.30pm Take your seats, enjoy an aperitif. Bring your own alcohol.

6.45pm A starter of short films to get the conversations flowing.

7pm Dinner is served. The Hive's tapas selection (see reverse for menu); organic ingredients, big crafted flavours. Bring your own alcohol. £18/head.

8.30pm An after eight selection of short films to make you laugh, think & discuss.
£2/head on door. Free if you are already dining. JDI

10pm The night is still young, but it's time to move on.

THE HIVE'S TAPAS STYLE MENU

Home cooked with freshly-prepared organic ingredients; crafted for big flavours & complimentary tastes

Antipasti
Ham hock terrine, chicken liver paté, harissa topped humus, manchego cheese, panko aubergines, artichoke hearts, kalamata olives, caponata, roast onion chutney, served with a selection of hand-made breads, oil and vinegar.

Main Course
Beef feather blade – braised red cabbage
Roast cauliflower – chestnut butter (vg)
Smoked aubergine and sweet potato stew – crispy onions (vg)

Rosemary, apple and roast garlic potato rösti
Maple glazed root vegetables
Sweet potato, green beans and pearl barley
Pickled beetroot and feta salad

Spiced poached pear – orange and cardamom syrup
