experienceCOLOUR is a thought-provoking and immersive learning experience, offering a fascinating destination for formal education groups of all ages. It is a multi-sensory, hands-on exhibition exploring the art and science of colour in the world around us. Developed in Switzerland, this is the first time the exhibition has opened in the UK.

With many themes linked to light and colour in the National Curriculum, the exhibition includes over 30 large scale hands-on exhibits and experiments and has been specially designed to be accessible for all ages and abilities.

The exhibition is presented in partnership the Science Section at the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland, and explores the work of Goethe and links to Newton and Turner.

By visiting the exhibition, learners will be able to;

  • ask questions and observe how light and colour behave
  • explore light, shadow and reflection
  • observe and experiment with prisms, light sources and other colour phenomena
  • explore polarisation, diffraction and after images

The exhibition is open for visiting school groups on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Admission to the exhibition is free for school groups but booking in advance is essential.
