Light, Warmth & Life: Exploring the work of textile artist Eta Ingham Lawrie

For more than 60 years, textile artist Eta Ingham Lawrie has created wall hangings that transform the places where they are located and that nourish the soul of those who encounter them. This book charts her evolution from her childhood in Germany to her professional life in England, Wales and, most recently, Scotland. It also considers her work at Trigonos, the retreat centre in Snowdonia where Eta has run regular courses in weaving and dyeing over more than 20 years, and where there are several stunning examples of her extraordinary vision.

Influenced by her Waldorf education and the writings and philosophy of William Morris, Goethe and Rudolf Steiner, Eta’s work transcends differences of cultural background or personal preferences in the way it captures and stirs the imagination.
