New Standard Works We are creating a vibrant new destination which embodies the spirit of the Jewellery Quarter's inventive past, present and future. Built in 1892 the New Standard Works represents a unique microcosm of the area; a perfect place to creatively interpret the social and industrial heritage of the Quarter through the lens of its own fascinating history. A flourishing rooftop garden maximises the open space on the first floor, whilst an artisan training bakery and café serves fresh baked goods. Ruskin Mill Trust's Argent College is housed on the first floor with students mastering the arts of jewellery, silversmithing, leatherwork, catering and candle making. Help support our active fundraising campaign to complete this £5 million project. The next stages are the renovation of the huge basement into a community arts centre and transforming the light and airy second floor into therapy rooms.
